Cases of pertussis (whooping cough) are increasing in Victoria, particularly amongst school-aged children. There has been almost 4 times the number of cases this year than in 2023. Immunisation is the best way to reduce the risk of whooping cough and is recommended for infants and pregnant women to reduce the risk of infection and complications.
